SS Soldek on Motlawa River, Gdansk, Poland
SS Soldek was the Polish ship - coal and ore freighter. She was the first ship built in Poland after the World War II (and the first sea-going ship completed in Poland as well). She was the first of 29 ships Project B30 type, built in 1949 - 1954 in Stocznia Gdańska (Gdańsk Shipyard). The name was given in a honour of Stanisław Sołdek, one of the Shipyard’s outstanding workers.
The ship is currently preserved as a museum ship in Gdańsk.
